DRAXHALL JUMP DESIGNS A MUSCLE CAR FOR "BATMAN : YEAR ONE"
Toronto-based studio DRAXHALL JUMP, home to comic book artists Ken Lashley and Christian Zanier ("Rising Stars", "Buffy The Vampire Slayer", "Jade", "The 10th Muse") are working with Warner Bros. to pitch the "Batman : Year One" movie/toy line, with designs for a jet engine muscle car 'Batmobile', that recalls the original Batmobile of the comics, built by Wayne Enterprises.
The Batmobile made its first appearance in "Detective Comics" No. 48 (February, 1941), and has since featured throughout the 1966-'68 television series and four movies (since 1989.)
The original car was a black sedan, with a powerful jet turbine engine, single exhaust port, all-wheel drive/traction and enormous tailfins as vertical stabilizers. New add-ons over the years have included bullet-proof glass, body armor 'scales' (to encase the exterior) and a center-mounted, onboard jack system (with a single "foot" supporting the weight of the car for powerful 180 degree turns.)
