Stephen "The Mummy" Sommers has developed the screenplay "Van Helsing" for Universal. Production is scheduled to begin in September.
Story premise showcases 'Monster Hunter' Van Helsing, the hero of Bram Stoker's "Dracula", travelling to Transylvania to fight an ancient evil.
Universal's Classic Monsters will be incorporated throughout the story, including updates on the Universal-owned original make-up designs for Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster and the Wolfman.
Sources have assured SNEAK PEEK that a 're-imagining' of Abbott and Costello is not in the works for "Van Helsing" at this time ... (heh)
