A French Knight and a Mohawk fight against a giant beast, in "Brotherhood of the Wolf", set in 1765, during the reign of Louis XV of France.

In a combination historical costume drama, gothic horror/action movie, the story itself is based on true events : In the 1760s, the 'Beast of Gvaudan' killed over 100 people in southern France.

In "Brotherhood of the Wolf", scientist Fronsac (Samuel Le Bihan) investigates the killings with Mani (Mark Dacascos), a "Mohawk Iroquois" from the New World.

Set against the rural French countryside, Fronsac courts both Marianne (Emilie Dequenne) and Sylvia (Monica Bellucci).

Released in France last year, "Brotherhood of the Wolf" broke Titanic's first-day box office with the equivalent of $2.5 million.
